Executive Sound

Hey everyone, I don't visit much but I am the very proud owner of a '94 Town Car Executive... Lately I have been having some problems with my town car and I thought I might write here and see if anyone can help me. The thing is that I dont know exactly what is wrong with the car. First of all I have to press down on the accelerator with a lead foot for the transmission to really kick in. I know that there is something wrong with the tranny.... Also today I put it in neutral and stepped on the gas a couple of times to see how it sounded and the car turned off. It had never done that before, so here I am now writing this message. Any ideas on what it might be will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
