04 v6.
Turn the car on this morning no issues. Drive to the first red light while sitting at the red light I start feeling what feels like a misfire. So I put the car in park at the red light and the "misfire" goes away. Put it back in Drive "misfire" seems to return. As I accelerate no misfire felt through 1st 2nd 3rd or 4th. When in 5th it returns while accelerating. This is whether under hard acceleration or light acceleration. At first I thought it may be a cop.
But based on me only feeling it at a sit still in gear and 5th I'm thinking it's a possible tranny issue. I have read some information but no definitive answers. No codes. Any ideas?

I'd place my money on COPs and plugs. It seems like you're experiencing misses when the engine is under load. While you're there, you should replace the valve cover gaskets as they tend to deteriorate and leak oil into the plug wells over time. This was the case when I had my 00' v6. What year and engine do you have? Any codes pulled? Just for the record, It is possible to have codes without a light being on.

Just drove it again. Severe loss of power throughout the band. Very sluggish.
No codes. If it is a coil how do I tell which coil it is without it throwing a code?

you can bet on it not throwing a code until a coil is pretty much in full failure... often its not that just one coil is failing but multiple ones starting to marginally fail. quite often trying to replacing just the "one bad coil" never works cause it isn't just one of them... also testing the coil to check actually cost more than just replacing every coil and spark plug (and yes, if you have a bad coil, you HAVE to replace the spark plug as well)

Have some friends at ford. They scanned it for cylinder 3 pack is ****. Going to swap it along with plugs, intake gasket, pvc elbow. All while im in there

They're COP (Coil On Plug), not multi-coil packs. Anyway, you'll be replacing all the rest one by one after a bit. You'll be annoyed at having to pull the intake again for two of those. Trust us, you have more than one failing, #3 is just the worst one.
