Well I just got my new upgraded oil pan for my tranny today and I wanted to get it put in right away but in comes the problem. I checked my tranny fluid in my car and it smells burnt and doesn't look cherry red. The car has 100,6xx miles on it so I'm not sure if I should just ride the car and wait for the tranny to blow or install the new pan and hope for the best. Any recommendations?

Have you checked the pan for metal? Does the car drive fine right now? If so, I would just change the pan and filter and wait until there are symptoms before plunking down money for a rebuild.
