Ok guys, My 95 mark VIII recently started leaking trans fluid. here is what happens. It doesn't always leak, only sometimes. It is coming from the rubber plug on the bottom of the bell housing, it is not the torque convertor drain bolt. I allready checked that. Most of the time it doesn't leak a drop, however sometimes overnight it will leak a small puddle??? I would think that if it was the front seal that it would leak constantly. It might only leak one night durring the week?? All that I can think of is that there is pressure building up in the trans and causing it to push its way past the seal. What do you guys think? I have never had a trans that would only leak one day a week! Other then that estimated 1 time per week that it will leak there is nothing! always dry, not a drop!

Mine does the same thing. When I remove that plug, I can see the converter, it is dry. The drain plug in there is also dry. I have heard about the dipstick o-ring leaking. Would the oring leak drip down as described here?

Well I havn't looked, but I'm pretty sure that the o ring would be leaking on the outside of the tranmission, mine is leaking from the inside of the bell housing, front seal I am guessing but only sometimes??? I park in the same spot every night in my garage. Some nights it will be 100% dry, others it might have a small puddle.

My 95 base did the same thing, I just kept the fluid topped till I had the 1-2 accu fixed. They resealed the trans for $100 - never leaked after that. No leaks of any kind ...at least till the oil pan rusted out and dumped all the oil at 90mph.

Update... well now the trans is leaking non stop so im sure its the front seal, how hard is it to get the trans out? do i have to pull the gas tank out completly? do you think it can be done in my garage at home? also how much have you guys paid to have your trans re sealed? thanks.
