Transmission Issue

Well tonite i was driving and my Check Trany message came on and on the left where u see what gear ur in,, it had a E

Stopped and turned car off when I restarted it it was gone and the E was gone'

Any ideas whats up?

I have a 2000 LS V8 with 102,000 had it since 60,000 and this is my first major problem.

Mine did the same thing about 2 weeks ago and went away. It came back 3 days ago. I now only have D1,D3, and D4. You can read more about it in an earlier post of mine. If you are lucky you just had a glitch. If you are unlucky like me your tranny be totally screwed soon. My 2000 LS Sport has 91,000 miles. I purchased mine with 59000 miles.

That sucks,,lol Hopefully it was nuttin. Really don't wanna replace a tranni,, ouch

I know this might sound stupid, but try changing the tranny fluid. My dads last f-150 97 would act like it was slipping, but had the oil changed and it went away.

Thanks PM,, I think I might do that since its a pretty easy fix.
