Transmission Swap

I've got an 05 LS v6 and am having transmission issues. Mainly harsh reverse / drive engagements, but also a lot of switching between 4th and 5th going up some hills.

I found an 03 LS v6 for sale for about $1000. I'm thinking about picking it up to do a swap. I'm pretty sure the 03 is a Gen 2 like my 05, but thought I'd ask here.

Will I have any issues swapping an 03 Tranny with my 05?

Mainly im tempted to just have it as a parts car for any issues I may have down the road.

Yes, gen II is 03 to 06, but early 03s can be a little different in some places (still, I would think that the transmission would swap.)
Be warned, the real issue might be your PCM.

if the whole car is worth $1000, I dont know how good any of the parts coming off of it could be.

That's my main concern, but I need several things done to this lemon hahaha, I just figured having a compatible junker would be cheaper to hold me over for the next few years...

This car has done nothing but cause me issues the past 6 months. It's so funny because it was AMAZING off the lot. Nothing seemed to be wrong until about a month later. Then everything went...

Unfortunately, the parts that are most likely to be a problem will be so due to age and use. Those parts on the 03 are likely to be in worse shape than the ones on your 05.
