I need a transmission for a 2000 Lincoln LS V8. I already have a new Torque converter but am unable to find any "deals" on the tranny. Any suggestions? I know that there is eBay but the ones I saw were quite pricey.

Plenty of trannys for sale out there. More and more available thru junk yards

go to www.crazedlist.org it will let you search all of craigslist at once so you don't have to go through individual areas. it makes everything so much easier.

welcome to my world.... my Lincoln is sitting in the garage right now. The trans oil is black with a metallic hint. It smells like dead oil. I'm searching my options right now as well. I'm thinking about having mine rebuilt but its going to cost 1800 which doesn't include the labor to remove and replace. I've even thought about rebuilding it myself but my friends discourage me and say its impossible.

check with your dealership...I paid $2500 from my dealership installed with new torque converter, all new sensors, and 3 year warranty. it's worth the money.
