So I made the mistake of buying the Ebay front end kit, and Moog Strut Rod bushings. 12K Miles later, Im on my second set of strut rod bushings, and there is no play in my front end but now 2 different shops cant get my camber right in the front end. I noticed some rubber coming out of the Lower control arm to frame, and shock bushings. So Im going to go buy 2 new Moog Lower control arms, and also I found a set of original Ford strut rod bushings.
Dilemma 1: I saved my original bushings and hardware, they werent that bad but I saw they were starting to crack so I thought Id replace them. I was looking at some of the write ups online and I think my hardware is a different design. My strut rods have only one spacer with a step at the end and then the washer at the end with the nut fits on to that step. Is this an early design or something? Will I have any trouble using them with the new bushings?
Dilemma 2: They said I needed a camber kit. I also want to sensor lower the car, so maybe it would be worth buying one. Does anyone know what the stock range of adjustment was? I found a kit that goes up to 1 1/8 degrees or another that goes up to 1 1/4 degrees. The 1 1/4 is almost double the price, so I wanted to make sure that it does give me more range than stock.
Dilemma 3: When I replaced everything In the front end ,I never changed the drivers side upper control arm. If I doing it all again I might as well just do it. I bought a swivel, ratchet, wrench, and I regular racthet wrench, and I wasnt able to get the bolt loose is there another trick for getting the bolts out besides pulling the master cylinder.
Last question does anyone have torque specs for the arms, and strut rod bushings?
