I have a 1991 Lincoln Continental Executive Series. I have two problems.

1) The windshield wipers.
They work fine. The only issue is that when you go to turn them off, they spring back up and will not go back down unless you get out of the car and slide them down yourself... What could be causing this?

2) DCL (Shocker...)
My dad's friend who owned this car before I did said the Check DCL (and the check engine light) started flashing after getting a new radiator installed... Weird. Sometimes the "Message Center" works, but other times it shows "----". The gauges show readings, but are not correct. The oil pressure and gas gauges are inconsistent. Sometimes the gas will say 3 gallons until empty, sometimes it says 15. We figured out it didn't work by running out of gas one day with it still reading 2 gallons. My speedometer works fine.

So, yeah. Can anyone give me any suggestions? Other than that, I love the car. It's a smooth ride.

best cure for the dcl is take the unit out and open it up and re-solder the pins of the plug ins. you can sometimes get away cleaning the contacts and the contact areas of the ribbons, but if it doesn't work, then you have to pull the whole assembly again. best to do it right the first time. changing all the bulbs is a good bet while it's out as well.

the previous post address the DCL exaclty..

the wiper issue, this is caused by either a worn linkage assy (the plastic pivot points to be precise), or a bad motor (there is a bunch of limit switches inside the motor)
