I'm going to Mich. next weekend and need to replace the upper control arms. I searched 10 pages back and couldn't find any. So...does anyone have any(are heavy duty Moogs avail.?) laying around or know the best plave to get some fast? Five star ford? I'm in 60014. Thanks.

advance auto parts has TRW (same as MOOG) for $83.14. If they don't have them in stock, they should be able to get them in about a day.

i dont get why anyone would order online for them when you can ride your bike to the local autozone or advance and by them at the counter?? i'm not putting down rock auto or anyone for that matter, but damn, when im fixing something i want it done right then and there i dont want to wait for parts to get shipped, and after shipping and all that, you dont save any money, why not just by them around the corner from your house??

whats wrong with saturday and sunday???? plus they are open till 9 pm.

When that's the only time you have to do stuff, it's nice to have the parts already here to get started when you get up in the AM. Like I said, it's just easier for some of us to order online.

I don't think I've found anything yet (that I've needed) at RockAuto that made it worth it to buy from them. Like Jamie said, I'd much rather "ride my bike" around the corner and pick parts up right then and there, than have to pay for shipping, and also have to wait for it to arrive.

I can also see the convenience in buying online though.

To each his own....

Thanks Boss, seems like the best deal so far.:D The lowers seemed good, is there any other parts that are a 'must' replace along with the uppers? .............I've got a mystery oil leak too. Thought it was the oil filter incorrectly tightened. Put on a new Wix, no leaks, next morning puddle again. Maybe old drippings? After being parked all day only little puddle. Maybe its only when running? Seems to be comming from the lower front of the engine. Will look closer when I do the uca's. Any 'typical' leaks in the front I should be aware of?(I didn't want to waste another thread to ask seperate) Oh yeh, I've always liked Prolong (goofy I know)and I've heard a few other 'treatments' are good, as long as there is no residuals(teflon)left over. Do any of these oil additives harm the DOHC set up?

2 things that are typical to leak oil, 1 is the oil pressure sending switch next to the oil filter its screwed into the end of the oil filter adapter plate towards the back of the radiator, 2 is the oil filter adapter plate gasket, its the gasket that is sandwiched between the block, and the plate your oil filter is screwed onto, the lower radiator hose also goes to it, the gasket behind that is a ver common leak problem. both are on the lower drivers front of the block.

I'm doing the uca's Wednesday so I'll check out the leak then. Thanks again Boss, I picked them up on the way home for $76 each. Thanks again.
