under the trunk

Hi All .I Have a Question , I Recently Picked Up A 97 MkVIII While Doing Work On The Brakes I Noticed That Under The Trunk It Looks Like Something Is Missing. On The Pass Side There Are Two Tubes Sticking Down.And On The Driver Side A Hose With A Round Deal On The End . And It Also Looks Like Maybe Broken Straps Under The Trunk.
Anybody Know What I'm Talking About .Thanks For The Help .

If you need one, I've got the one I just took off my 97. You can have the canisters too. The only thing you'll need to do is get some new hoses from the parts store. You'll just need to get about 4 feet of generic vacuum hose. I think either 3/8" or 1/2" will work.

It's a little rusty, but it's just surface rust. It's structurally sound. Normally, I would sandblast it and powdercoat or paint it, but I don't have access to that stuff anymore like I used to.

my mark has no tray under the trunk did all marks have them? i got what apears to be two plastic lines of some sort coming fron the tank going to the rear bumper with a cap on the lines

Only Gen 2's have this particular issue.

OP, check to make sure the cel comes on with the ignition. If it doesn't there's a good chance the previous owner removed it.
