well i bought a black on tan 93 a few days ago and right away the only thing i hated about the whole car was the interior, i am not a fan of mocha, saddle or prarie tan, i just dont like tan period, so i knew i had to do something about it. saturday i drove 80 miles north of where i am in florida and picked up a garnett red on black 94. yesterday i spent all day taking the interior out of it and cleaning it all so i could put it in my car. if i cant buy a black on black 1st gen, i'll make one !!! i went to my shop yesterday at 10 am, and came home today at 6 am, went to bed, and was back at the shop at 11 am, and just came home at 9 pm again. i am beat!!
i am using everything from the doner car minus the dash and headliner. doner is a moonroof car mine is not, so i dyed my headliner instead, and dyed the dash also just the main body of the dash, everything that screws to the dash is from the doner car, its a little shiny but im hoping will dull a little, either way its easier then changing the dash. i have a whole ton of audio going into this car so i did not finish the interior so i can wire everything up. i have to put the rear panels back in, the seat belts and back seat and driver door panel. i drove it home tonight with the front sseats just sitting in it lol woops not the smartest idea its not very easy to drive when the seats wants to dump back, good thing i live 2 miles from the shop. i will have it all finished up this weekend and cant wait to wire up all this audio, its gonna crank!! here are some pics from last night, i still have to change out the pass air bag to a black one, i didnt have one at the shop to put in, my flash makes the dash look way blacker then all the stuff on it, but honestly in person, even in sunlight, it doesnt look bad at all, for some reason the flash even made my 98 dash look like this too, and that was all original.

Wow, nice job I kinda like the darker looking black, maybe repaint the center and side panel's to match. When your all done take some photo's outside. again nice job.

You wouldn't happen to have the black peice above the steering column atatched to the dash wouled yha?

looks great !!!... i wish i had enough patience to do something like that..

too bad about the mocha.. its the only tan i liked.. haha

more pics please when your finished !!!

thanks guys, the black piece you are talking about was broken from the doner car, the one on my dash is the tan one painted, i just left it in place when i painted it all. i was gonna swap it, till i saw both tabs busted off it!

I did pretty much the same thing in my 92 LSC, went from white to black interior and dyed the lower half of the dash black to match the center console. What a pain in the balls that was. lol

Should look nice once it's all done! :Beer

Looks great. Eventually I will be at that level with the car. I HATE the saddle color in the car I want black. I figure after it is running the way I want then I will the interior unless I can find a nice parts car with the black interior for a great deal. Look forward to see this car progress I know you will do some great things to it.
