Would anyone invest in used trac lok being sold for $20 , claiming it works? would you trust it?

Iwould, just buy the clutch rebuild kit for it. It will be like new.

is it hard to rebuild it, or should i have someone do it for me.

It's very simple to rebuild and the rebuild kit is cheap. I would add an extra clutch pack if you can.

I agree, rebuild with clutch pack, might as well do it while its out instead of putting it in and have to do it in a couple of thousand miles. Plus you're starting out fresh at that point. Just my 2 cents

i've got an assembled unit with 2.73 gearing sitting in a mustang 8.8 in my barn - i am wondering if it's worth the hassle to transfer the traction lok from that rear end into my mark viii pumpkin, or just buy a new pumpkin - what do you guys think?

id switch it from that rear if it that has the trac lok already. Gear sets on ebay for the 8.8 are cheap. If you know how to assemble these 8.8 rears you could make a fortune selling them to people online.

they don't sell the pumpkins with the 373's anymore (cobra pumpkin). It would be a lot cheaper to use the one you have.

thanks for the advice - i had been tempted to sell it and get a new one but looks like you guys saved me from the wrong move.

Dose the 97 LSC come with a trac loc rear? If not, what do they call it?

All Mark VIII's come with an open rear end, which means one wheel peel.
