So the state of Utah want's to place a ban on aftermakret exhaust

The latest legislative alert, which is currently moving through Utah’s senate floor, proposes to ban any exhaust not “installed by the original manufacturer of the vehicle” regardless of whether it meets DOT, NHTSA and emissions requirements.
Under the substitute bill, all vehicles must be equipped with an exhaust system that is “installed by the original manufacturer of the vehicle and is not modified; or meets specifications equivalent to the muffler installed by the original manufacturer of the vehicle and is not modified.”

States do stupid SH**T. I recently started to sell a one acre lot in Penna. We had to run a PERK test because where it's at everyone has septic tank systems. NOW GET THIS Pennsylvania requires a second PERK test be done on the property NOT SOLD. If it doesn't PERK right you cannot sell the first lot. The prospective buyer backed out when he found out the new septic systems cost $15-16,000. You never REALLY OWN anything in AMERICA you just pretend to yourself that you do.

I hope it doesn't pass - don't want to give more states stupid ideas. Plus, where will they draw the line? This year it's modified exhausts, next year something else and eventually you end up with not being able to modify your car at all. Outrageous.

That'll never pass. The Truckers and Construction Equip. People and Rod builders out there that modify everything will shoot somebody. POLITICIANS DON'T LIVE IN THE REAL WORLD.
