VCG help needed!

'01 LS8. I'm replacing my driver's side vcg and can't seem to get the dipstick tube out of the way. The tech article says to remove the nut that holds it to the vcg, then just lift it out of the way...but I removed the nut and it doesn't want to budge??? Anybody have any ideas?

When I changed my VCG's I had to twist the dipstick tube Clockwise and counter-clockwise as much as I could while pulling up. That did it for me.

Mine wouldn't move either so I took some snips and cut it then separated the pieces to get the dipstick loose. Good luck!!
