I want to black out the yellow reflector in my headlights on my 97 conti. Any idea what products to use and the best process to get them apart?

you would have to seperate it, then use a high temp paint and use a specail silicone for sealing headlight

What is the process to separate it? How long and at what temp would it have to be in an oven for? and if I sprayed it what could I use so that it's still reflective??? I don't want to paint that part of the lense just take the light apart and spray the reflector.

take the light assembly out and inspect it. Is it held together with screws or glue? If it is glue, I would try steam first since most glues are water based. You can get a chrome spray paint to paint the yellow part - go to a hot rod parts store. If you get desperate, use a dremel with a cutting disk carefully to open it up and glue it back together with epoxy after painting.

i have used the oven at 400 but you have to be very careful as to time in and out then silcone sealed it after using aluminum duct tape polished an cut to fit. jamie uses the dremel cut off disc methoded. alot safer if you only have one set of lights to work with. are you blacking out the trim in front of the reflector ? can't see blacking out the reflector it's self as you need as much light as possible down range. jeb lsc8 has his taillights painted black which is sharp with the 2tone paint job. jds
