Hey, just stopping by to say hello, Just picked up a 2000 LS V8, don't know much about them yet, but am looking forward to it. I belive its a sport, its black, has the chrome trim on the bumper and wood on the steering wheel. Which brings me to my first question, what would be the differences between the sport V8 and the other V8 models? Anybody have info on the SVC supercharger kits, kinda interesting. thanks, lovin LVC so far, great work. :L

Congrats on your LS. You're gonna love it. As for superchargers, no one to date has been able to market one to the public. McLaren had an SC built for it's LS by Trilogy but never got it to work. SVC has provided lip service but nothing as of yet. There isn't enough demand yet to warrant mass market for the SC.

Two versions of the LS from 2000-2001 was the sport and non-sport. The sport version did not have the chrome strip on the bumper, the Alpine stereo system, all leather steering wheel, the SST Shifter and standard 17" 5 spoke wheels. The non-sport had the chrome strip on the bumper, standard 16" wheels, wood steering wheel and optional Alpine stereo. That's pretty much the difference. However, in 2002 the LSE was introduced for that year only and it had a re-designed front fascia, side skirts, rear valance with exhaust cutouts, dual exhaust tips and grey 17" 5 spoke wheels. This package was appearance only with no engine mods. The LSE had the same features as the sport version.

Welcome!

About the only other thing I could add is the sport models had different springs/shock tuning than the non-sports. Other minor changes during each production year occurred (early V8 '00s built before 7/99 had 3.58 rear gear, 3.31 after that until '03, adjustable rear head rests on early '00s, full-size spare changed to "doughnut", etc.

About the only thing available to date to improve performance is a CAI and cat-back. Expect to gain ~ 30 HP w/ both of those. But like GreyGhost says, limited demand for LS speed parts prevents much aftermarket support.
