My fellow LS brethren,

I'm looking for some advice. I just passed the 50K mark on my 2002 LS Premium and ironically enough, the warranty folks tracked me down. Anyhow, they're offering a program to extend the warranty out to 100K. This would be bumper to bumper with a free loaner car for any repairs that take more than a day and a $50 deductible for repair work. The price on the extended warranty is $1,800. I am very inclined to purchase it, just for the peace of mind it would bring. That's especially so after reading about experiences some of you guys have been having. Sound like a good deal?

Honestly, I would save the $1,800 for future repairs if it's needed at all.

Hi
Is it a Genuine Ford warranty or third party? If it is a third party... run don't walk. If it is a Ford ESP it is worth considering. How many more years does it go out? How long are you going to keep the car?

I have just over 50K on the car now so the warranty would be for just about another 50K miles. I do not know if this company is affiliated with Ford or not. They are called "First National Warranty", and they're out of Ft. Lauderdale Florida. Their phone number is 800-231-8748 ext.66. I plan on keeping the car another 3-4 years. Thanks.

Go with the Ford ESP only. Third party ones just aren't worth it. There are lots of places that sell the ESP online for a discounted price. I would be suprised if you paid more than $1200 for the Ford one. Good luck.

I thought you could only get the Ford ESP while you were still under the original warranty?
