I just wonder how it's going to hold up if there is a high speed chase and it's wrecked..... How do use a Vette to do a pit maneuver? What if he gets shot at? BTW, they have about 14 cars parked on the side of the police station in the grass and none of them are moving. I don't get it. I thought maybe an auction 6 months ago but nope, still sitting there.

They'll take that to the public school and say, "crime is bad. We took this guys really nice car because of it. Don't be like him."

When I was a little kid my local PD had a Grand National Dare car... I think I missed the point of the whole deal... I just thought it was a bad ass car and wondered why they put the ghey stickers on it.

So it will be the police chief's parade car?
Probably

That is the wrong message. If you sell dope, you can drive a corvette.
My area got RCMP 2011 sho's
Badass cars.

That was probably one of the first meth labs ever busted. Maybe cocaine though. You know that was some white-trash drug dealers car. Everyone with a mullet wanted a GN or GNX.

The article said the business people paid $80,000 for the car. Why not by 2 new Chevy Caprice squads to donate?

x2. Im sure it was an impound.

No, seriously, it was donated to the Madison City police by a married couple that live not far from me. They own Systems Products and Solutions. They went out and bought the car for them and then had to have a city council meeting with the mayor before the car could be accepted. Here it is before all the additions. They actually are driving the car around lol. I was taking my son to school yesterday morning and it was pulling out behind me. Well, about two cars back. I have to pass right by this place every morning.

In the next tiny town over the police chief drives one of two cars to catch speeders. Hes had a 06 Mustang GT since 05 and just reciently added a 10 Vette. Both are red and both have the star and crest on them. Ive seen his house and know he couldnt afford them himself and its a really small town of 800 or so. Always wondered how he managed getting the cars.

In some states, they do take cars away from drug dealers ect. and auction them off very cheap and guess who knows about the auction before anyone else does? Then there are towns that confiscate cars and just keep them for the police station.

We have another vehicle here that's an SUV. It looks like a Tahoe or something and they have it painted solid white with the American flag painted on both sides of it. It's clean and has nice wheels on it. I'm sure it was a seized vehicle but there is no way that I'm spending $70,000 on a Vette and giving it to a police station. I bet they never have to worry about getting any tickets for life, in this city anyway.

we have state troopers around here with tahoe's those trucks haul major ass dont think that big old suv cant catch you muffin works on them at the chevy dealer he said they are no joke.

yeah a few cops around here have the tahoes. i got stopped by one (go figure) along time ago. i watched it whip a u turn on a very narrow 2 lane and come after me. so uh yeah they seem far from stock

Are they actual SHOs, or are they the new Taurus-based Police Interceptors?

It has to be the SHO's. The new Ford "Inteceptor" sedan and SUV aren't due for release until 2012. Production of the P71 Crown Vic will be ending around May, I believe, so they can switch over to the new platform.

thats why i miss my black out switch on my TA and driving with NODs on..
