I had almost forgot about this problem since it only occurs in the fall and winter. Also, for some reason, I was not able to search the forum.

Ok, when it's colder outside and wet, my dome lights come on, the open door image on the dash lights up, and the doors also unlock when I come to a stop??? It basically believes that a door or the trunk is ajar. Today was the first day that the temp here dropped to the 50's and it was also raining most of the day. Has anybody else experienced this problem or know what it may be? It's not that bad now, but when it snows and such it's a downright annoyance when you pull up to the light at night and your car lights up and the doors unlock. It really makes you feel like a nut.

I think you might have water in your drivers side door. I have read where the drain hole in the bottm can clog and cause it to fill with water. There is a body cotrol module or somethingh of the sorts in the door.

Yoou will need to remove the door panel and such to get a good look at this. you should check on automotive fourms.com as well or flatratetech.com becasue I am not certain where I read the info from. Put a few key words in the search box of the LS thread and you will more than likely get a number of hits. Just keep refining the search and you are sure to get what you are looking for.

Good idea eL. I would also think that it's possible that the ajar sensor is gummy and dirty and the colder temps allow it to hang up more. Just a thought.

Water in drivers door? Is that why I been hearing weater wooshing back n forth when I stop? lol

thought I was crazy or hearing things, but now that u said door hole clogs and holds water,, I'm not crazy,,lol

Only way to fix it is to remove drivers door panel and clean out the clogged hole??

Yeah, I think the door has to be removed. Since I no longer have an LS to look at I can say for sure. I would lay on the ground and check the bottom before you go through the dis-assembly. Once it is cleared out and dry you might want to drill it a little larger. I heard it has the propensity to clog frequently after it clogs the first time.

Where is the ajar sensor? I've used the panel plugs to drian the doors out before and whenever I wash the car. This problem seems to definitely be related to the temperature. I thought about the sensor before but I couldn't seem to figure out where it is.

door switch is inside the door built into the latch. If you have your door open and keys in the ignition you can shut the chiming off by rolling the latch over a little. Just make sure you pull the door handle before you close else you will hear a loud kathunk and you'll prolly belch out a loud DOH and slap your head.

yep! Royal PIA to replace.

Check under your door. I'll be surprised if you can't find a plug or similar you can pull to drain the door. But if you have water sloshing around, I would still pull the door panel and all the guts I could to clean, dry and lube back up. That much water isn't good....

Damn I love Arizona! It would take years to get that much water in a door!! Well, unless a monsoon got you.....
