well i went upstate to the dealer test drove it, ride felt great, leather was near perfect, and i talked the guy down $500 so i put a $500 deposit down and im going to pick it up a week from today im VERY excited i finally got my LS!!!... the only thing is that on the front bumper there is a pretty good scratch the paint is chipped off across the scratch..and when you look at it from an angle there is a LITTLE indentation(if you look on the pic put your finger right in the beginning of the left chrome strip and follow your finger down the middle of the bumper you can see the indentation) its hard to explain the salesman said he was going to touch it up and it will look better (thats why i got another $500 off) the best thing about the car is it only has 16k miles...oh yeah i have a few questions:
1) its the base v6 i seen it had a cassette and cd player but i forgot to check if it had the cd changer..does that come standard? 2) where is the gas filter located..is it hard to replace? 3)does all those little bells and whistles i saw you guy posting about like the moisture sensitive wipers the heat strips on the wipers and how that radio volume varies with speed come standard on the base v6?

can any one answer these questions for me??.................1) its the base v6 i seen it had a cassette and cd player but i forgot to check if it had the cd changer..does that come standard? 2) where is the gas filter located..is it hard to replace? 3)does all those little bells and whistles i saw you guy posting about like the moisture sensitive wipers the heat strips on the wipers and how that radio volume varies with speed come standard on the base v6?

hey state, I found this info on your stereo question on another site

"For 2003 and 2004, the Lincoln LS offers three sound systems. The most basic system is a premium sound system with AM/FM stereo/cassette/single-CD player and 4 speakers – one in each door. An audiophile sound system with 180-watt AM/FM stereo/6-disc in-dash CD changer, 12 premium speakers, and a 90-watt subwoofer is available as an upgrade. The top-of-the-line audio system is currently a sound system certified by THX."

not sure about your other questions though =/

I'm not sure how different the V6 is from the V8 as far as the location of the fuel filter, but for a 2000 V8 here is a rough idea on how to replace the filter:

The fuel filter is located in the front driver's side wheel wheel well area (the part closest to the firewall). The easiest thing to do is to get the LS up in the air and remove the front driver's side wheel. Once you have the wheel off there is a cover inside of the wheel well area, and once you remove it you will see the fuel filter. The cover is held on by 3 or 4 of those little black body tacks. Once the cover is off, remove your gas cap then replace your fuel filter (by removing the clamps). After your fuel filter is on, turn your key to the on position (do not start) and press the gas pedal to the floor three times consecutively. Then turn your key off, and then back to the on position three consecutive times. This is to prime it. Then start it up, put everything back on and you should be good to go. I hope my instructions make since to you, I know they are lacking in technical lingo, but if when you start taking things off you should see what i'm talking about. And you can take it off without removing the wheel, but it would be a real pita unless you can really get under the car. Like I said, i'm not sure about the V6, it might be completely completely different...

thanks alot guys, appreciate it...oh yeah forgot to say i have 2 years and 34k miles left on my warranty REAL happy about that
