It has been a while since I have been online and chatted with you all; lots of business travel, so on my way home today I was wondering how I was going to reinsert myself into the forums because it has been such a long time. Well just minutes later the idea came to me in the form of two sensor lights :). Well I had to ask huh. :Bang

It seems my traction control light and ABS lights are on now steadily illuminating the gauges in a horrible shade of yellow. But I am happy to be back online with all you great folks just wish it could have been under different conditions. Seems this car is a serial killer and it has a thing for the Benjamin’s aka the C-note.

Man it has been running great since my last repair about a month ago, LOL, seems the car can't go 30 days without needing attention. I am waiting for it to key itself like a psycho ex would do.

I am sure this has somehting to do with the ABS sensor in the wheels becaue I have seen similar posts in the past but I would sincerely appreciate it if some of you folks that have had to endure repairing this fault would drop me some hints on what I should be looking at. Thank you in advance and have a pleasant weekend.

It could be an ABS sensor.........but if both of the lights are illuminating, your best bet would be your ECM (electronic brake control module). Does your pedal make a "popping" noise when you depress the pedal to the floor (after the car has been running). There is a TSB on this that I have previously posted. Your ECM controls your ABS and traction/advancetrac system. Just a thought. If your pedal makes this popping noise, it is your ECM. If not, then it is something else. Let me know if you need the TSB on this. Good luck.........and i know what you mean about the LS being a little needy. It seems it will have some good times for about a month before demanding a little money to be thrown at it. But, :L

Thanks for the info. The Brake pedal did make the popping sound once for just about 1 to 3 seconds. It has not recurred since but I have only operated the car for about 15 minutes since the lights illuminated. I will comb through the TSBs to see if I can find but if you get a chance I would appreciate it if you would post it.

Thanks again.

Well just road tested per the TSB 99-26-8

12/27/99

^ BRAKES - "POPPING" NOISE FROM THE BRAKE
PEDAL AREA, WITH POSSIBLY PEDAL
MOVEMENT - VEHICLES WITH ADVANCE TRAC
VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM BUILT
THROUGH 10/11/1999

^ NOISE - "POPPING" FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL
AREA - VEHICLES WITH ADVANCE TRAC VEHICLE
STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM BUILT THROUGH

After my car warmed the TRAC light went out but the ABS remained on. As I traveled up the road the ABS went out and neither have returned. The popping in the brake pedal did not return at all during the test drive.

So maybe a faulty indicator or the wheel snesor is flaking out. Maybe my car could sense my need for something to talk about on LvC and came to my rescue or I used my telekenetic powers unknowingly to induce the fault.

The moral of the story don't let biznez travel come between you and the LvC and your car will remain problem free :).

I appreciate your attention to this matter DLS8K and your wishing it is a sensor lsbit.

You all have a pleasant saturday. I am taking my family out to Ft Desoto today to soak up some free Florida A/C, aka sea breeze.

Not a problem.........glad i could help out. Enjoy the weather while im stuck in Iowa.........with fields of corn. Yippie!

I was just up in Minneapolis and I just ccould not imagine having to live in such rotten weather.

Well the ABS light came back on and then later the TRAC light came back. Seems when I start the car and drive for a bit only the ABS is on then the TRAC light illuminates a while later.

I sccaned the PCM for codes and did not pull the one listed in that TSB. IIRC I did get a P1270. I have not looked it up yet but plan to shortly but I do not think it it is related.

I hope the weather clears up for ya soon. We still have plenty of room down here in florida for people under 70 :) if you decide you have had enough.

Well I was reading enhanced powertrain when I pulled the p1270. I rescanned the for DTC and pulled c1234 which is the RF Wheel Speed Sensor so it should not be that big of a deal to replace.

Hey mrzee if you happen to stumle across this thread before I get a chance to contact you could you send me a quote for the Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor.

Thanks again folks.

hE iS,
Just like any fancy lady your LS needs LOTS of attention. If you aren't there with it, you're gonna suffer. Ya know how they get if ya don't provide that tlc. Lincolnlov.

Yeah this was the result of 4 days alone in the airport parking lot. I am sure teh car thought I was off at some exotic destination kicking it with the exotic cars driving on the wrong side of the road to the wee hours of the morning. Vindictive cars arent they!
