I promise to nicer if you promise to be smarter.
I buy a lot of stuff online. By that, I mean a lot. 6 grand a month isn't unheard of.

Tonight, I was going to buy an AFE Stage 2si intake for the 450. I asked my friend Google where I could find the best price, and he told me to go to a place called Race Mart.

They indeed, have the unit almost 100 bucks cheaper than anywhere else. So, I click on the Gold Member (hell, who doesn't like to be a gold member?) link

https://www.race-mart.com/register.asp?cg=1

And I see the page... and that's when I lost it and sent them a flame mail.

I'm offended of the fact they are treating potentially new customers like criminals. Why in hell do they need my "Employer name" and address? Yes, I know, they ask to "protect themselves against fraud". Again, treating potential customers like crooks. I'm surprised they didn't ask for my SS number and my blood type. An identity thief can easily have a field day with the information they're asking for.

Screw them, I'm going to spend 100 bucks more on the same item at an e-tailer that won't treat me as a criminal.

I would have put myself down as the employer just to save money. They don't need to know that $hit.

I decided to look and see if Summit has the same part. They do.

Almost 100 dollars more than Race-mart ( http://www.race-mart.com/aFe_Power-AFE-75-81262.html)

So, I called Summit and asked if they'll price match. The guy asked for the website address, put me on hold for about 3 minutes while he verified it, came back on the line and said he would price match. Actually, he went 13??? dollars cheaper because they charge for freight. In the end, I got the part for one dollar less than race mart's price.

All in all, a good Summit experience. Now I'm waiting for the confirmation email to send racemart a copy of it (with my personal information removed, of course). Nothing burns a business owner up more than having a potential customer send him a copy of an invoice from a competitor, for the same product.

Looks like Racemart is in the business of selling their customers personal data and mailing lists to offset that "up to 25% discount."

Everyone knocks Summit, but I have always had excellent luck with them.

I freakin love summit. I've been able to order something one morning and have on my door step the very next day, with ground shipping, and they were more than willing to take a part back that I incorrectly ordered and exchange it.

I could put down "self-employed", but it's the principle of the matter...

I understand what you're saying. Facebook did have a "privacy act" but now they have changed the rules. 500 million + users are on there now and peoples addresses, phone numbers can now be sold to third parties. I never have been a part of Facebook but I have warned many about it and their new policy. All they think about is farming and poking lol.

A few of the people I have warned about this are now getting phone calls on their phone about joining a college and or other various odd ball calls and they wonder why.

I think you would be fine just biting the bullet and saying self employed and getting what you want. Once business is done, give them a call and tell them to delete any and all info on you.

I did some more research on Race Mart. Quite a few negative reviews out there. Now, just about any company is going to have a negative review. That's just statistics. But these guys... oh, buddy!

And I agree with Facebook. Don't care to be on there either, mainly for the same reasons.

i go to Summit a lot... its less than 20 mins away from my house. always had good luck with them and they even matched prices for a competetor site. I like to support my local businesses so i try to go there first.

I built the Cougar SBF engine through Summit, with very few exceptions.
For my money, you CANT beat them!
They run an awesome store!

They have a big store at their main warehouse location - just outside Akron - been there a few times - they have a big show every year. And they used to have one in Sparks NV - but I don't know if they still have that one.
