just picked up a 00 v8 with under 30k miles, what should I do to it?

1. I want to swap the plugs out what should I get?
2. what oil do you reccommend?
3. what performance things should I do?

it will be a DD so nothing radical need reliabilty above anything else/

obviously the most important upgrades are multiple DVD screens, aftermarket NAV, 20" chrome rims and louder exhaust :p

just kidding. i haven't done any engine work yet so i am not the guy to ask about that. but i think with '00s it's important to get your exhaust tips out from behind the bumper, and consider upgrading the headlights because trapped condensation was a big problem for the lamps that year. this is next on my list.

I don't know about the plugs, but simple upgrades:
KKM Air Intake (you should customize a heat shield for it) & tube
X-Cal Tuner
Clear the turn signals
Magnaflow Exhaust
Rims/Tint, spoiler, etc - you can get alot of other ideas from doing searches and reading older posts in this forum

LSKoncepts sell pretty much everything available for LS aftermarket parts

I've seen many posts recommending using Mobil 1 full sythentic oil - that's what I'm using now.

2000 with under 30k miles......i would flush most of the fluids that seem to have been sitting. and i agree with all suggestions above...see sig.

Plugs: Word on the street is that the stock plugs are the best ones for stock applications. I remember asking about Bosch +4 Platinum plugs and the general consensus with our more technical members was that they weren't worth it.

Oil: Mobil 1 and Royal Purple are good oils, but just remember when you move to synthetic you can't go back. Always go with the owners manual on what oil to use, not brand but the weight and grade etc.

Performance: As Midas78 already stated, there are a lot of free mods. You can cut the bottom of the stock airbox out for added performance and a better performance sound. The best all around performance mod, even though I'm not experienced with it, would be the X-Cal tuner. It tunes the shift points of the transmission, reprograms the PCM for added horsepower, etc.

Lighting: If you decide to clear the headlight corners you need to look for grey glue sealant, black will not work. When you clear them, you'll need Orange or Chromium 3157 turn signal bulbs to make it legal. I'd recommend Chromium bulbs. They are priced around $10 a set, and they don't make your corners look like, as Ken Garrison says, egg yolk.

I just bought my 00 LS about a month and 1/2 ago. Since then i've bought a McLaren grille and 2005 LS HID's. Both are being installed this week.
