This is my suspension compressor. What is the big computer-looking thing on the side? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The control module is located inside the car not on the outside. All years the control module for the suspension is located behind the passenger side kick panel/glove box.

That part is the Variable Load Control Module. What it does is communicates with the PCM (powertrain control module) thru the mulitplex communication network and it incorporates the circuit control provisions for the fan motor and the A/C clutch field coil.

So I guess I still need this after I convert to coils, huh?

I would have to say yes, unless you do not want your heat or A/C to work correctly..... :N

Another one bites the dust. Converting to coils. Oh the horror! In all the high performance magazines, guys UPGRADE to air suspension and spend a ton of money doing it. We have to buy a $160-200 strut every ten years and we go nuts. Talk about ZOINKS.

This was not an easy decision for me. The new tires on my wifes car, the rear neon light going out last week, and my oldest daughter turning 16 on Monday (guess who gets to buy her vehicle?) clinched it for me. I hope they appreciate my sacrifice, but I doubt it.

is the relay pictured in that image too?
No. Here's a pic of the relay. It's on the opposite side from the first pic above.

You can fix the neon light for next to nothing.....like $90.....just go here.

Hope that helps a bit.....

I've been thinking the same. LOL! Funny how the grass is always greener on the other side. :D To each his own, I guess.

FWIW, if my aging air suspension starts to go, I'm staying with it. :L
