What is this???

I believe it allows you to adjust what the car is reading as the a/f ratio to 'trick' the car if your MAF cannot range or adjust enough.

we have not seen any need for other than the stock MAF yet.

I don't know much about it but I know some of the guys with marks go to a bigger MAF what does this do? and is it only applicable if you have a tc/sc??

It meters the amount of air into the intake to give you the proper air fuel ratio. Not sure how a larger MAF affects a stock motor but if you go with aftermarket heads or intake manifold then a larger MAF is a must.

I should have been more specific, I know what the MAF does, just wondering if changing to a larger MAF would make a difference on a some what stock LS, I am planning on getting the XCAL2 Flasher and wondering If I up graded to a larger MAF if this would need to be included in the new tune and if it would make a difference or not.

All reports are that the stock MAF will flow more air than the engine can use--it's not a bottleneck at this point.
