What is up with the new format?

The threads that are new or that have new post to since I last visited bold at the top, but half way thru it lists the threads that have not been posted and, regardless if I've read them or not, they are unbolded, I like them bold...what is the purpose of this new way?

no no no, no matter where it is, if I go back without reading it, it is unbolded...so Im not sure what Ive read and haven't.. lol
