Hello everyone, my name is andy and i was just wondering i bought a 93 mark VIII afew months ago and i wanted to have the exhaust done but i was curious if i should take off the resonator when i put new mufflers on it. i was gunna use something like the XPainsionX II but iv heard it would sound blaty. i want a louder sporty sound but not to loud and not sure what to do. any suggestions would be great thank you.

Well Andy, the answer to your query is to dump the resonator if you want the sound. The whole purpose of the resonator is to modify the sound to make it less sporty and remove harmonic drone. This car was intentionally made quite from the intake system to the exhaust system so as to not offend the Lincoln new car buyer at that time.

2-1/2" will provide the throatier sound I think you are looking for along with straight-thru style mufflers with the perforated baffles.

i wanted to get the exhaust done for the main reason off it being a v8. v8's arent suppose to be quite:Bang and when i idle i want to hear a slight rumble:gr_devil: but i dont want it to loud, like someone forgot to put mufflers on it or theres a huge gap in the exhaust header and the tail pipe but more like a old mustang or 67 mercury cougar.:headbang: Thanks for the help eveyone and thank you for the greetings.

Our system is EXACTLY what your looking for. It IS THE most researched and developed system out there. Almost zero interrior resonence, best possible exotic v8 sound out there, best mileage and power gains too. Plus it is Quiet but when you PUNCH it, it's there 1000000000%

What does Blaty mean? And who said our systems sound like that?

If you can take off the 3rd cat I would go with a 2 in 2 out Magnflow muffler place where the 3 cat and resinator are located and then run 2.5" pipe out from there. It will sound very nice and the 2 in 2 out Magnaflow has a built in X pipe.

If you scroll down you can hear a video of my 1 in 2 out magnaflow. I couldn't get my muffler guy to cut the 3rd cat off. This system cost me less than $300 to put together.

I feel you get a very good sound from the Magnaflow. I has a mellow rumble for in the neighborhood so you don't wake everyone up. But when you step on it you get a very nice growl that says I have some power so bother me Ricer.
