What speakers are you running?

I currently have 3 sets of 5x7 boston accoustics. they sound great but, i recently sold my subs :Bang so i lost alot of bass. Im no longer looking for the "thump", but more a bass filler. something that will sound good but not break the bank. Would changing out the front 5x7s to a 6.5 add some bass. what do u guys run or what do u recommend
 
I have 2 sets of infinity reference 6X8's and one set of infinity reference 6X9's that are are on a seperate amp. It really sounded just fine, then I built a fiberglass subbox with 1 12inch rockford punch xlc, I am very happy with the sound. It was very inexpensive.

1 twelve in the trunk should add the minimal bass ur lookin for and not break the bank.. the punch XLC is a decent cheap sub that can be pushed with a 500 watt amp.. not much to break the bank.. the amp will be the most expensive part.. if u already had a system then u wont have to pay for install.. you COULD replace the speakers and so forth, but if ur going to upgrade the speakers..ur gonna end up paying almost the same price as jus gettin 1 sub and 1 amp u feel me?

i would jus get a decent amp.. and decent sub.. if u got an aftermarket headunit then u can control exactly how u want it and not get much of a thump..

i was gonna get those same mids and highs that u have now.. how much did u pay for them and are they that much better than the stocks?
 
Factory Speakers on a 2channel Fosgate Amp. 2 JL Audio 12W3V2D4's on a Memphis Power Reference 300.2 soon to be changed to either all JL speakers and amps or To the 2 12" Memphis M3's . Im going to sale the Memphis Power Reference. 300.2 which sounds slammin. with its bass control option. Plus i seperate all the highs and mids and lows with a db equalizer.

You can do 1 12" sub in a sealed or ported box with a mono-block amp for some low bass. I dont know the brands you like but JL and Memphis as well as Alpine have some good stuff.
 
I have to not be lazy and take pics of the box I made, I am running on a cheap ass circuit city amp, it really does go pretty low, it must you the trunk as a seconday box.
 
i sold my 1 kicker l5 in a ported box and a kicker kx 400.1 for 300. im not really looking for a sub just more sq
 
Good thread. I'm changing all my speakers soon. I'm not big on bass, but I want to sound sort of like I have a system. I dont want a sub though.
