I'm trying to replace my speakers but some of the boxes list them as 5x7/6x8, how can a speaker be two different sizes? Does it mean the mounting holes are used to mount in both sizes? Just bought some 6x8's and will install them Saturday, haven't had a chance to remove any speakers yet.

took all my syock stuff out after awhile it sounded great but with 2000w of kicker bass i put 6 x 9 in wired from the stereo sounded 10x better

Woo hoo, installed my 6x8/5x7's in the rears today. Ran wire straight to the head unit, albeit, I cut the factory connector about 6 inches back and soldered the + and - speaker wires to the appropriate wires that connected to the Scosche harness. This way it is pretty much plug and play. Sounds pretty dang great, so happy to have tunes in my Mark! Will do the doors next weekend with the same Kenwood 6x8/5x7's. Yes I did tape up all the cut wires so they can't make contact with any metal and cause shorts or fires.
