The first car I ever fell in love with,(If I can say that), was a 1978 Ford Thunderbird.(Okay, I was 5 at the time...) It was the same color as my favorite food/ beverage (yes I drank Heinz Ketchup from the bottle then). My father bought it in the fall of '77. It was the car that made me want to learn (really-really-really bad ) how to drive. I thought it was the most beautiful car in the world (still kinda do...). I also played "Love American Style" with the girl next door in it a couple years later.{Meaning, that's where I got my first kiss at.}
Since then, I've always had this thing for '77-79 Thunderbirds. (And that was the car that made me a Car Fanatic.)

So is was it in the car you got your first kiss. Car was big enough to have a secret Rendezvous where no one could find you LOL.

I guess the first car that I feel in love with was my Grandfathers 1960 Bellaire it wasn't real fancy I just remember it so well. Now when I see one I have this itch to pick it up and get it restored!

Mine would be the first car that I ever purchased......1967 Plymouth Barracuda Fastback.....my mom's dad owned it before I purchased it.....and I loved it the first time I saw it.......I guess I get that from my dad.....he is a car person too.....

Mine is a 427 Shelby Cobra. When I saw them in pics as a kid my Knees would weaken. My dad also had a series od Birds from 77-78! He had the one that was a Heritage edition with a FACTORY CB!! I used to run the battery DEAD!!

it would have to be my moms 66 t bird it been in the family the whole time and when i get done with school i will restore it

Unreal! Funny you mention that. At first, when my Pops got the car, I would "flirt" with the (same) girl next door by flashing the headlights off-and-on(causing the headlight doors to "wink" at her) she returned the flirtation by doing the same in her daddy's New Yorker of about the same vintage.(we had no driveways so they'd park front-to-front) We'd keep blowing out the vacuum hoses by doing this while the cars were not running. (not to mention what it did to the battery!) It did start a tradition though, to "punish" me, my Father made me watch him replace the hose,to see how much work there is in fixing a car, and since then, we always "work" on our cars togheter, even now.
I also remember that being the only car (as a passenger) that I could fall asleep in on those rides back to Travis AFB from seeing family in the southern parts of California. I was 10 when we had to get rid of *ahem* "Mrs Ruby Ford" and yes, I did cry like there was no tomorrow that day.
* a note of irony here* Pops traded the T-Bird in on a '83 Cutlass Supreme,I LOATHED that P.O.S!, Fast forward 5 years: My first car was a '78 C/S, My 2nd car a '79 Cutty. Cruiser, My 3rd car, an'83 Hurst/Olds (Yup, another Cutlass) <Cuttys are the most of any model of car I've had>
Fast forward another 9 years to May 2002, I buy a '79 C/S, nearly identical to my 1st C/S (sans vinyl roof) which is in the process of restoration currently in my driveway.*****Talk about sick.***** BTW, I still would rather have a 77-79 T-Bird *(even after the tragedy I've had with a '94 model.).

This thread had me think for a bit. First car I loved. I listed my Grandfather's 1960 Belaire.

But then I saw a callendar at my local Body Shop and saw the Plymouth Superbird!

I was in Grade School I wasn't dirving car I was racing Hotwheels. I had my two favorite cars that I would use to cursh the Competition! They were the Chaparral with it's spoiler and the Shelby Turbine!

But due to the large spoiler that the Chaparral had I wanted a car with a spoiler thought it was cool! Must have had some Adolescent Ricer in me at the time. Maybe Ricer is a part of Growing up! Lost mine by High School I guess some don't.

But if liking a Superbird because it had a spoiler made me a Ricer Hmmmm...I'd run that 1970 440 Superbird against any Ricer today. :Beer

My first car. '68 VW Beetle. Wrecked it about 4 months after purchase and picked up a '73 SuperBeetle for $400, no engine. Pulled the engine from the '68 and drove that car for 4 years. I installed engines in that thing three times, two transmissions, and more assorted parts than I can even think about, then finally had to junk it because it was so rusted. I still have a big thing for air cooled VW stuff. Totally awesome little cars.

73 Charger, and I owned two of them as an adult... you can see my black charger on a re-run of "Third Watch" I tried to buy it back recently after it was involved in gun fire episode, but NBC apparently junks the cars after they destroy them :(

actually, when i was 5 years old i had a babysitter that owned the nicest Mark7 i had ever seen, and i said then that i would get one when i grew up (and welp, i came close with the mk8). But the first car i became a fanatic about was the Dodge viper with the viper red paint, and the yellow wheels! I remember goin to mcdonnalds so i could try to get enough menoply peices to win the car!

My old 91 GTA.......I should have never traded it in, but the TPI 305/200R4 just wasn't fast enough for me.
