I purchased a 1998 mark viii, got the air ride fixed then started the mods.Deleted all cats,2-1/2"dual exhaust, intake silencer delete,4:10 gears, jmod and an sct tuner with a tune from Torrie at unleashed tuning.all this work is wrapping up just as winter sets in,so now i'm anxious about the track next year.So what do you think it will run?

^^ what he said. All depends on the launch and air. I went 14.5 corrected on a 2.27 60'

Not on stock intake, log manifolds, and stock converter.

Don ran a 14.5 with out these mods. Deleted all cats,2-1/2"dual exhaust, intake silencer delete,4:10 gears, jmod and an sct tuner with a tune. If he does not run a 14.35 burn it.

My 98 ran 14.6 with an SCT chip and Dynomax mufflers on street tires. Ran a 14.0 with 4.30 gears with stock manifolds, cats, intake manifold and converter.

Just curious but if he didn't have headers how did he delete all 3 cats since the one is part of the exhaust manifold? Cobra manifolds?

I have stock manifolds with all 3 cats deleted. Just need a good exhaust welder to work some magic...

I noticed a crack in my drivers manifold while building my braces.

Only took me an hour to have it out, and zipped back up

This is a temporary fix as I plan on getting Headers and all new pipes, so it'll work for now..

Point is, removing cats shouldnt take all that much

I did have the manifold cat cut out and welded. If I went to long tube headers and a 3800 stall converter could I break into the 13s?

I didn't see Trac/Loc in your list of mods  ?? But with it Lower 14's. 14.3 maybe. Good luck :) Pick a good air day.

I have removed 3rd cat and replaced with x-pipe, 4.10's with TL, Jmod, Cobra intake, and tune from Lonnie and I ran a best of 14.266 @ 97. It all depends on what your car ran stock. Mine ran an average of 15.6 with a quickest of 15.3. So with your mods I would say about a second faster than stock.

Dude if it's snowing you're fvcked but I would run it now with that cold air coming in that intake you can't go wrong. Down here in Miami we are so underpowered due to the hot air & humidity. Dryer, colder air would be so darn nice!
