Okay, let's get some conversation going. What's your favorite movie? Why? For me, I tend to break my favorite movies down into categories.

Best action movie: tie between True Lies and Terminator II. I liked True Lies because of the excellent mix of action with some good laughs. T2 was just awesome to see when it first came out, and it's one of the few sequels that was at least as good as the first. Honorable mention: Spiderman.

Best western: Tombstone. Val Kilmer should have gotten an Oscar for his performance as Doc Holiday. Honorable mention: The Outlaw Josey Wales. Lots of great lines in both of those movies.

Best comedy: this was tough. I don't really have one, so I'm picking the one that comes to mind first, and that's Bedazzled with Brendan Fraser. Had some laugh out loud hilarious parts in it.

Best horror: used to be The Exorcist, but that movie has been bumped to honorable mention status. The Grudge is now my favorite horror movie. One word: creepy.

Best drama: Braveheart. If you've never seen it, you should.

That's enough for now. So what about you guys? Any movies that you would like to mention and share?

Actually, I was talking to a guy here at work today about that same movie. That's a movie that sucks you in to that time period, whereas most movies you are just a spectator. It is very good and I'd put it in my top 5 westerns.

Stephen King fan, huh? There are 2 scenes in Pet Sematary (?I always wondered why they spelled it that way?) that get me. One is where he's holding his dead son in his arms at the funeral home, and the other is where the boy at the very end says "no fair". That was a tough movie for me to watch cause I related so much to it as a father. Which means they did an excellent job of portraying the agony involved. Pulp Fiction: good, violent, and stylish. I liked it. But what is GIA?

clockwork orange ya I don't like the movie at all It needs a remake the book was so good but the movie was just not even close

Anyone seen Sin City yet. Man that is an awesome film. Very violent though. I have seen Violent, Pulp Fiction to Boondock saints. But this one was crazy.

My favorite western would probably be as Mentioned Tombstone, or the Magnificent seven.

Other movies would be Saving Private Ryan, Goodfellas, Donnie Brasco, Heat. Comedy, Airplane, Ace Ventura Pet detective.
Sci Fi would have to be Close Encounters Of The Third Kind or Star Trek II The Wrath Of Kahn, great flicks.

It's tough to have an absolute favorite. :monkey:

Well as for movies -

I love the Outlaw Josey Wales - Dying Ain't Much of a Living Boy, Buzzards got to eat well as worms do!

Comedy - Young Frankenstein

Horror - Mary Shelly's Frankenstein

Drama - Braveheart I'd agree

Action - I'm a sucker for the Star Wars or Indian Jones Movies - But then the Mummy Movies were pretty good also.

I haven't seen Sin City yet. I almost went on opening night, but the reviews stopped me. The coloring and camera work look awesome in the previews. But I read that the scenes were realy jumbled or something? Was it hard to follow?

Heat is another one of my favorites. The soundtrack really helps this show. A good cop and robbers movie for sure. 5 stars.

My best war movie would have to be Black Hawk Down for the realism in how the soldiers act. They pretty much nailed how grunts talk. Honorable mention: Tora Tora Tora for the details and historical info.

The reviews are :bsflag: The story is not hard to follow at all, it's like a comic book going from one persons story ro the next. It's a really great movie. It got 3 and a half stars. It is a must see. :monkey:

Indiana Jones movies are awesome :I Also Young Frankenstein is hilarious.

Wilder; "Well whose brain did you get" Igor; "Abby Someone" Wilder; "Abby who?" Igor; "Abby Normal"

Butterfly effect good movie!!

Another one of my favorite sci-fi/action films is The Matrix. Very cool show.

Probably my best sports movie is Rocky. It may be cliche, but it's classic.

Full Metal Jacket had my most realistic death scene. Cowboy: "I can hack it . . . (croak)" The look on his face. He really looked dead to me.
