What backspacing is optimal for my 97 LSC, for both front and the rear? I am thinking 8 inch wide wheel and 245 tires... thanks!

everything i've read says you want about 3 inches of front spacing for the mark. fills the wheel well better.

doing the math gets these numbers:

with 7 inch wide wheels that gives you an offset of 13 mm. (4 inch backspacing)
and with 8 inch wide wheels that gives you an offset of 26 mm. (5 inch backspacing)
finally with 9 inch wide wheels that gives you an offset of 38 mm. (6 inch backspacing)

i have 9 inch wide wheels with a 26 mm offset and 5.5 inches of backspacing, and they sit awful close to the fender but don't rub cuz they are shorter than stock.

How close would a 17x8 with 20mm offset be to the wheel well? anybody have any pics of that? im looking to buy a set of 17x8's with 20mm offset tomorrow and need to know how this is going to work.
