I wanted to know if ifan 18x9" wheel with a 5x4.75" lug patten and a 36mm offset will be fine for our cars... and if so what type of tire should I go with?

i'm sorry imeant a 24mm offset... and what would be the best type of tire... or possible types i could use

Have you tried using the search function? This is fairly easy information to find.

There a number of threads about tire choices, one of the main things is what you expect out of a tire.

4.75 is a half inch too large of bp. And that offset would look bad even if they would bolt up. On a 9" wheel +36 seems to be ideal.

As mentioned use the search, you'll be surprised the information you'll come up with.

Look for username 'baggedtaco' here on the board. Brad, offers a wide variety of 18x9's specifically made for the mark viii/thunderbird with perfect offsets. His wheels are VERY affordable also. You can't find a new set cheaper elsewhere, especially that fit the mark the way they should.

As far as tires are look at sites such as www.tirerack.com and read reviews for tires that interest you. When it comes to buying, if you don't buy a new wheel/tire combo... use www.discounttiredirect.com .. not always the cheapest, but 99 percent of the time you can't beat their prices, and service and convenience is great.

Good luck.
