I have to know about replacing the upper and lower control arm bushings. O'Reilly's has Moog for the lower I think it is at $50 per side. Is there a cheaper place to buy them? Are Moog the best money can buy? The upper I think he told me has the whole upper control arm and the bushing, is that the only way they come, at $100 per side? So now I am looking at another $300 in parts? The rubber bushing cover has split open and I am sure they will not hold grease. The Moog are polyurethane, with no grease fitting on the bottom of the bushing, does that mean the polyurethane don't need to be greased? :(

Rockauto.com

Buy the T-Bird ones; they're the exact same part, but cheaper. I guess they figured Lincoln people should cough up more cash, since we're all loaded- ya' know?

Also, surf some of the other Mark VIII boards for a 5% discount code.

Tbird uppers are great, if you either dont have the air ride or can weld the height sensor bracket back on.

I got a set of the improved TRWs for $60 each for the Mark.

Have not done the lowers yet, but the T-bird and Marks should be the same.

The lower Control arms will have to be bought new, as FORD (or anyone else, IIRC) doesn't sellsjust the Control arm to K member bushings.

I think mn12perf was selling theose bushings in a kit, but they guy wanted around 250 for all the bushings included.

Rock Auto is where I got mine... Uppers and Lowers... but get the T-bird control arms as they are about $40 cheaper.

Well no one answered about the Moog VS any one elses bushings? If I go with the T-Bird then I won;t have a lug to re-mount the height sensor? I have no way to weld it myself and by the time you pay someone to weld it, it would be cheaper to have gone with the Lincoln part. So $42 each for the Moog bushings on one and $102 for each of the control arms with bushing mounted again, Moog ,is okay?

I have some Moog on my 65 T-Bird they seem to wear a lot faster than I expected- but cheap!

one time my garage ordered the control arm, removed the bushing, and returned the control arm, and the parts supplier only charged them for the bushing.

If you don't have any way to mount that little nipple, but that is only on the upper control arms.

The lowers are the exact same part. At least when I compared them on Rock Auto they gave me the same part selection but higher prices when I searched using a Mark VIII.

if you check around you could find a welder that could do the job farmer ironworker fitter boilermaker or racer. as rich said don't let them take your money for the same part. do a little work and put the differance in your pocket . there a a couple of threads on this subject on site. good luck jd
