I am thinking a 2003 V-8 lincoln LS with the sport package. I don't know alot about LS but I would like to buy one in a few years. Was it the replacement for the conti and the Mark VIII because conti is a 4 door and the mark with the engine.

i would have to say my lincoln is the best ls. jk ive heard the 03 is a good year to get as far as mechanical issues

The LS was not like any other Lincoln previously so you can't really say it replaced any particular model. However, the last year for the Mark VIII was 98 and the LS debuted in 2000. I guess you can say the LS replaced the Mark VIII but they are two totally different cars. If I had to buy an LS today I would look at the 2003 and up models. Lincoln made over 500 changes to the LS starting in 2003. Just to name a few changes: they increase the HP by 28 ponies, changed the suspension a tad to reduce harshness, slight cosmetic changes inside and out and added a Navigation system as an option. Of course those are just a few but the 2003 and up would be my choice if choosing an LS now.mark0101 said:
The best LS's are the white ones :wrench like mine. I've only had minor problems with my '00 but the ones with the least problems seem to be the '02 and the '04+. The '03+ have more power; I guess it depends on what you can afford.

Whatever year you get I would recommend the sport package. Sport pkg comes with the V8 and if you ever test drive the V8 the V6 might seem a little weak afterward. If your a true driver then you will love the Select Shift Transmission (SST). It is a manumatic tranny that allows you to shift gears almost like you were driving a stick. So basically the sport pkg can accomodate all of your moods; if you feel like driving like your in an old school Town Car you can, or if you feel like wringing it out on your way to work or whatever, the LS if fully capable of giving you that sporty feel. Whatever your mood remember, you are still in a Lincoln, so expect refined American Luxury, and expect to turn heads. :L
