Which engine?

I have a 97 base, witch engine is it the same as, 96-98 cobra or 99-02 I know the difference with the heads but what else.I am getting ready to do a barrage of bolt ons( mass air ,throttle body, pulley(s), intake(filter) exhaust.
What has worked best for everybody. I am also gonna do gears 3.73 with an detroit locker, how do I correct the speedo for this.

I believe it's more similar to the 96-98... I know that when people do the cobra intake swap that is the years they get them off of... As for what works with our engine, I'll leave that to somebody else...

Yes, It uses the same heads as the 96-98 cobra. As far as the speedo correction goes, On the 97's it needs to be corrected via reburning of the computer. I don't know the specifics on it, as i have only 1st gens. Some one will be able to fill you in.
