That's interesting. I've had the opposite experience. My Arnott's are soft and mushy as heck. Even when brand new out of the box, they were much softer than the OEM's that came off my '96. And a LOT softer than the OEM's that are on my wife's LSC. That's my only problem with Arnott air spring/shocks. So far, no other issues with this set.
Only if something blows before the 12 month warranty. Same with American Air as far as I know. They all have 12 month warranties. If something blows after that, you're buying a new one regardless of who you buy it from.
American Air Warranty:
"NEW AIR STRUTS
Our new air struts are warranted for 1 full year from the day of purchase. The strut warranty DOES NOT cover the strut if the rubber air bladder has become "unfolded", as this was an installation error and the strut warranty will then be voided.
Any strut that is being submitted for a warranty claim will need to be shipped at the customers expense to the 311 Dry Fork Rd., Del Rio,TN. location and inspected by American Air Suspension before any warranty action is taken by American Air Suspension. If upon inspection, we find that the strut was damaged do to an accident or misuse, any and all warranty is void. If the warranty has been voided, the customer may request the part back, but at the customers expense. All warranties are for the original purchaser and are nontransferable. Warranty is for part replacement only and DOES NOT include labor."
That is almost exactly the same as the warranty from Arnott.
American Air even carries the "old style" Arnott air spring/shocks like the ones I bought 9 years ago that failed after 13 months, just one month over the warranty. And for only $358 a pair. That's not a bad price. But I wouldn't try them since they're the old design and apparently not the new and improved versions from Arnott that I currently have on my '96 that have been doing fine for over a year and a half. Again, knock on wood.
