Who Know How to Paint? I Want to Learn.

I have decided to invest in some equipment, so I can teach myself how to Paint. I am going to start buying stuff in the next few weeks. Here are a list of items that I will need


Compressor Have two, not sure if they put out enough.
Filter and Dryer setup Rather inexpensive as far as I know.
Air hose Have two, but will probably get a new one
Sand paper All grits
Good sander
Good buffer
2 spray guns 1 small 1 big
Painters tape
MCU 2Papa respirator
A building to paint in
Paint Paint Paint

I would really like some input on this thread. All help would be appreciated. Any info on types of paint, thinner, spray guns. Anything would be great. I intend on making this thread an ongoing learning experience.

Just remember with paint you get what you pay for. I think the best thing to remember is to stick with one brand when you're buying primer, paint, clear, etc. I'm no pro but I've taken a few classes for painting. What I'd recommend to you is take a class or two at a local community college for auto collision repair/painting. It's not too expensive and you'll probably learn far more there than you would trying on your own.
