Will a t5 from a 3.0 work in a 3.9?

I have a 2001 3.9 Ls and I just bought a 3.0 of the same year model and I was just wondering if the trans will switch out or not. I bought it mostly for interior parts and extra spare body parts and rims and all but my reverse has been weak for months and I know it's only a matter of time before it goes. Oh and one more thing... I do not have heated seats but my other one I bought does. Does any one know the process involved in adding these? Thanks in advance

The V6 transmission will not physically bolt to the V8, and vise versa.

Are you wanting to swap the seats, or just the elements?

There is physical room, with a bit of work, and it's possible to get an aftermarket bellhousing drilled to take the bolt pattern on the 3.9 block. All such pieces as the flywheel, etc., would have to be specially done so as to fit your application. It's not a worthwhile project from a $$$ standpoint.

IMO if you have never pulled the pan and service the tranny, and also rebuilt the valve body that is all you would likely need like my 2001. Dont listen to AAMCO's, DIY or find an honest independant.

also, the 3.0 does not use a Tremec transmission (T5), it has a Getrag (221)

Well that sucks about the transmission. Luckily it's not a problem yet. Just a foreseen issue due to the lack of power in reverse. As far as the seats ... I'd like to change the seats and add the element I dont currently have. The seats are not only in better shape but mine aren't heated.

Well like I told joegr, it's not a problem yet. I just have less power than I should in reverse and know that its something I'll eventually have to do

What is the cost, skill level required and time to do that? With only moderate mechanical skills would I be able to use the assistance of google, YouTube and obviously LVC to do it myself. I'm currently preparing to tackle the timing chain or at least the secondary tensioner. The only reason I haven't yet is it's not too bad but mainly because it's my family's only car currently. Me and my wife share one vehicle and we can't go without a ride for more than one day, mostly due to our child. But anyway. Feel free to elaborate on the process of service and rebuilding valve body or at least recommendations on where to look. thanks.

Lol. Wow. I believe it. But that's why I thought it was a T5. I believed the guy I bought it from and he swore to be a renound mechanic and that they would interchange. Thanks for the info.

I'm not sure about how much trouble it is to add the wiring and control modules for the gen I seat heat, but here's what you would have to do to move the elements to your seat cushions.
How to remove leather from seat
