Will the Gen 2 Supension fit a Gen1 V8 Sport? Can you take the Gen2 Suspension off a 2006 LS and bolt it up on a 2002 V8 Sport.

Like the Front, upper/lower CA's, Rear upper/lower CA's, Struts/Springs front and Rear? I know someone here knows. Thanks!

Yes it will I have an 02 ls with 06 suspension had to change lower balljoints from 14mm to 16mm

Thanks, Doesn't the 02 Sport V8 already had 16mm Balljoints????

My 02 V8 Sport had.. a tight Suspension, kinda of firm. My 06 LS is Tight but Floaty riding. What difference did you feel when you put the 06 Suspension on the 02?

It's a floating ride with oem struts you can use kyb gives you a sproty ride

The Gen1 has the base suspension which was very floaty. Then it had the Sport suspension which was stiffer but still had a little give. Then there was the 'Euro' suspension which was very stiff and sporty feeling. The Gen2 just had the Base suspension and then the Sport suspension which was softer then 'Euro' but firmer then the Gen1 'Sport'.

It really doesn't matter too much since Ford isn't making shocks for any of them anymore and none of the big box stores aftermarket selection is going to feel as good as the Sport/Euro stuff. You have to go outside the box and start pulling in stuff from Bilstein for a Jaguar or the aftermarket adjustable shocks.

So I had the 02 V8 Sport that I purchased in 2004. It Had 34k on it when I got it. I handled very well to me in curves. I ran the 245/45/17 tires on it one time and it really handled well.

I also own a 06 LS with 46k. The 02 Suspension was not as soft riding comparing the 2 with low miles as the 06. I think the 02 was stiffer better handling when new that the 06 is. The 06 is more Lincoln riding cushy soft. Just my opinion tho.

For the record, I always run the same type Michelin tires on them at the same time.

So the 2001 takes the 14mm ones only right? The only reason I ask is I see some of the ball joints for the 2001 say 14mm and 16mm.

The safest option is to measure it. Maybe someone has a definitive changeover date, but it always seems fuzzy in gen 1 regarding production date and base/sport

It would be hard (not impossible) to find an 06 without the sport suspension.
