I'm cant make up my mind between 50% or 35% all the way around. I'm think 50 might be to lite but 35 might be to dark  My ls is silver frost with dark charcoal interior and chrome17's. This will only be my 2nd mod, first was the mclaren grill

Thanks in advance

I have HP20 from solargard on my silverfrost LS. Check out my pics for a reference.

I actually live 15 min in Illinois from St. louis. It is illegal for us to have any on front sides. The cops really are not that strict about tint laws in this area, but I think 35% with dark interior is pushing it. I dont know if it would look good to have just the back tinted in 5%??? Does any body have just the back three windows tinted?

I would not do a 5% on the rear and nothing on the front, too much of a difference.

I have had 5% on the rear of my truck and 35% up front, wasn't happy with it so I took the 35% off and did 5% on everything. That's what I plan on doing with the LS.

If you aren't supposed to have anything on the front sides I'd consider a 50% on the front and either 50 or 35 on the rear.

I have 20% all the way around, no problems with the law (35% on the front 2 is legal, 20% everywhere else). I'll post a pic in a few.

Pics of my car. Sorry its dirty, just got back from the airport during pollen season.

I am currently in the process of having my windows tinted and I have had the questions due to Ohio's laws. I am thinking about 50% all the way. But I hate to get a ticket and request to have it stripped off. If the weather is nice its heading to Ziebart Saturday morning.

I have 15% all around. It's a little dark at night, but its fine during the bright Florida sunshine. I woldn't waste my time with anything lighter than 20%... I don't know what your state allows. But Florida is 35% 2 front windows and anything else goes in the rear of the car.

We have the same law in mass as in fl with the 35s in the front and anything goes in the back. i dont think cops would #@!% with me if i bend that law but what about inspection stickers? id imagine you people with 15s all around would fail instantly....i remember some guy on here i dont know who had 5% in the back 20s in the rear and 35s in the front and i looked like it blended in nicely

mine came with 35 all the way around when i bought it. i wouldnt go darker. my explorer had 2 layers of 5% and it was like spray paint you couldnt see anyhting. 35 looks nice and is easy to drive with. also cops wont say anything

No inspections in FL. Or at least I have never had my car inspected.

I also have 15% on my car. I love it during the day, but sometimes at night it is really hard to see out of. As for inspection, I plan to take the front tints off and then get them re-tinted right after the car is inspected.

I think I'm going with 35% all the way around. I work in Mo. all day where it is legal. I'm just afraid of having a couple of drinks and getting pulled over for tint in Illinois, where I live. :Beer I gues that gives me an excuse not to drive :steering

Your states sound kinda strict on tint laws. In AZ it's 35% on front two, anything on rear.

Like I said, I had 5% on top of factory tint on every window and never had a problem. Only one cop ever asked about it, but didn't write me up for it, just asked how dark it was, I said I thought it was legal (knew it wasn't), he said see you later. Also, I had been pulled over a fair amount of times with the dark tint, they never knew or cared.

As far as Cops and tint go. Remember one thing, the only way the can tell is with a light meter. And Cops not even here in FLA carry light meters. I know people who have beat a ticket for tint. Now 5% I guess you really can't argue with.

im in ohio as well.. i have 15% all way around.. havent had a cop pull me over once keep in mind your in a lincoln..lol

also those guns.. if they dont have brand new batteries in the pack to exchange them with - dont sign the ticket you can fight it pretty easily.

As long were on the subjects of tints. I have had bubbles since I've gotten the car...I tried to pop them but they seem to be attached to the glass. Kind of like an inverted bubble (if that makes any sense). Any idea of what the problem is or what to do?

If it was done recently the problem is cheap film and/or installers. If you know anything about where it was installed or what film it is you may have a chance of a warranty being on it. If not you can't do much about it, except start over.

Even a good installation of good film will bubble eventually, that's why I make sure my tint jobs come with lifetime warranties on film and install.
