Well, today started off innocently enough as I pulled through the bank drive-thru to deposit some checks. I put my window down to talk to the teller and then I went to put it back up but instead pressed the rear window switch (the window was already up). All of a sudden there is this BANG and I watch as my rear window goes down. I knew as soon as it happened what it was so I went straight to work and ripped my rear door panel off and sure enough, the upper pulley had snapped in half. I then proceeded to curse and then tape my window back up into place which made me curse even more. Only good news to come out of the deal was the dealership had a rear window regulator for the LS so I decided to go ahead and get that.......I was expecting to have to get the motor with it but fortunately for me, I didn't have to. Thankfully, I only had to pay cost on it so it ended up being around $32......otherwise it would have been around $80. The other good news is that I had time at the end of work to put it in so I wouldn't have to drive around with duct-tape on my window! Took all of 30 minutes to do........really quite easy for anyone needing to do this.
Other news about today......we've got some snow around here and I decided to take my LS out before they started plowing the roads (4-5") and the LS did great. The advancetrac system really works quite nicely.......it's no all-wheel drive, however, I never ran into a problem at all........even going around corners it sticks to path. I took a 90 degree turn and then just cranked the wheel as fast as I could and it plowed for about .1 seconds and the system kicked on and I made the corner........not that I would be doing that everyday, but I just wanted to see what she could do in the snow. Also, my tires (Sumitomo HTR+ 245/45/17) are great tires for the price! But, when you turn off the traction control........its about like my Mustang.......nice to own this Lincoln this winter!
Sorry for the long post......I was just excited about getting my car fixed and excited it handled the snow as well as it did!
