The wipers are stuck in the upright position in the "off" setting. Any ideas what it could be? Thanks...

Mine did it too...............................

Had to replace the motor. Fixed the issue.

That is a very touchy because it could be the motor, could be the relay, and could be the multi-function switch. Most likely it is not the multi-function switch if all of the other functions are working, like the turn signals, the headlights, and the high beams. If all those are workin correctly, then it is not the switch.

Most likely it is the motor, but I replaced mine along with the multi-function switch, to find out that the relay for the system was shot. Thank god I had a spare car at the time that had a brandy new motor in it to swap that did not cost me any money. I would guess it is the motor.

Hope that helps....

I got this problem THIS FREAKIN MORNING just getting my car out the shop! I learned a little trick... I get out the car and when I turn the off, I force them down with my hand gently and instead of going up, they go down like they supposed to....... is that gonna mess up the car? I have no idea... but it worked

I would get out and force them down. After a while they started stopping at different places on the windshield. Then after about three weeks of this, they would just stop straight up. Replacing the motor took care of this issue and I have not had the problem since.

I know that if the relay is the problem, there are usually other symptoms that go along with it, like teh wipers not wanting to start, or the delay settings not working correctly. More than likely it is the wiper motor, but the relay is cheaper to replace and a lot easier.

more than likley its the wipermotor cover has the tab broke off and that tells the motor where "park" is

Agree 100% Same thing on 3 of my fleet - 90 TC, 92 Grand Marque and 95 Mark. Not too bad a job on the Mark. The TC and GM were nasty.
