 how do i tell if my air bags, the ones outside the car, are any good anymore? also, idk how to tell if the rear struts are any good. too, my mark makes a weird "chains ratteling" noise and a nock noise that i believe is coming from the rear. what could that be?

i beleive the noise is from your rear shock mounts.... go to arnott.com to find replacements... easy to do..... had the same problem about 4 months ago... and it turned out to be my upper shock mounts....

Maybe be your rear shocks. The shock mounts wear out after time.

You can get replacement mounts from Maxx at 5 Star Ford - Tell him you are a member of LvC and you will get them for about half price.

At the same time you may want to replace your rear shocks. You can use T-Bird shocks available at your local Auto Parts store (Don't go to Auto Zone you are sure to get the wrong part).

I don't know if the air bags on the rear would rattle.

If you ever have any air ride questions Call Eddie at American Air Suspension.
Eddie is the best in my opinion and many others on this board. He is very good at diagnosing most air ride problems. He is also very friendly and eager to help. He is not going to push you on products you don't need or repairs you don't need. Eddie is a member of this board (American Air-1)

If you find your car sitting very low in the morning, there might be a leak.
If you hear the compressor turning on a lot while you drive at speeds bellow 65mph, they might be leaking.

And if you really want to test it, turn the air ride off from the trunk, and drive it around for a day or so.
If it drops a considerable amount, you're air bags are leaking.
