A 2000 LS V8. 135000 miles, all service records, recent as in last 2000 miles timing chain work, trans flush and oil change. Interior is flawless except for a crack in the plastic near the fuel and reset buttons.
It is black with professionally tinted back door and rear window, has some added chrome where the grill is and the thing inbetween the fog lights. No rust at all( Amazing for a Wisconsin/Illinois car)
Has a cd changer and moon roof, side airbags, the alpine stereo

He has a new air bag clock spring to go with the car as the airbag light is on

It also comes with a set of 24s with new tires, a set of normal rims with decent tires and four new tires to go on those rims.
(car is on stock rims now, he says for winter driving)

I would walk on that no matter what.

I don't know if I would even pay $1500 for that car.

That is a first year - first gen LS

24" wheels on this car is basically like driving around with rubber bands stretched over 4 manhole covers.

Looks like Dale Earnhardt back there has been racing the thing, too.

Thats not the owner of the car, someone else who was looking at my van, when I walked outside to take the picture during my test drive today

Seems really high for that car. I'd be sorta concerned about the type of owner that would put 24s on this car...

To put it simply, hell no.

If I paid 6900 for an 06 with less miles than that, you can do better.

Forgive me a bit Tris, but, I am always a bit leery of statements such as yours. Just because one gets the deal they got does not mean that the same opportunity for a deal is available within a reasonable driving distance to someone else. With that said, the asking price is the seller trying to make back as much as possible. Op, have you done any comparisons locally to use for bargaining power if you are truly that interested in it?

Ah, the subtle nuances that make a hideous car truly horrid.

Check out the exhaust tips.

All correctable areas though. My initial concern would be the additional stress the weight of the wheel and tire package put on the suspension. Depending on how long they were on, added stress could have the car in the shop sooner than later. I still smell some serious negotiating in the air if the op has a serious level of interest in this particular car.

Is someone starting at you through the window?

The guy selling it didn't clean the front drivers side wheel good. Anyone lazy enough not to fully detail the car before selling is probably too lazy to do anything else with the car. 24's on this car will ruin the suspension, its touchy with factory rims on it. Find a different car.

That rear tire DEFINITELY rubs!! Can a piece of paper fit between the tire and rear door? Is his girlfriend making a gang sign?

Well I'm just saying I see better deals on LS's all the time on my local craigslist and I live in California where cars are usually more expensive. I honestly think 5500 for that LS is a rip off.

Tris, I completely feel where your initial post was coming from. My counterpoint was primarily to give an opposing way of considering the circumstances the buyer may face. On the surface, the asking price on that particular LS does truly sound high based on one not so good pic of what appears to be an average example of an LS. The hard part is getting some to believe that anything other than a gen 2 LS should ever be purchased.

But that is another thread altogether......

D, it goes to show what some well spent money will do for one because yours looks damn good.

What I said was in reference to the LS sitting on 26s linked above on the cardomain site, not the LS he is looking at buying

and heres a guy with 26s

haha looks like a micromachine car from the side, rather sad actually not my cup of joe
This is a facepalm moment. I am actually speechless. All that money he spent on the rims and jacking the car up to make them fit, he could have built a bulletproof all motor demon. It takes all kinds I guess. OP I'd talk him down to 4500. If it drive good, great, but 5500 is a lil steep. At least the timing chains are done. That's one less headache.

And here I was giving you a compliment. Regardless, the compliment stands fam.
