I used to tell my wife that Florida was the home of the most Grand Marquis cars..............NOW I'm adding Lincolns to that list.
They dominate in the luxury cars class in northern FL I believe. don-ohio :)^)

the Town Car is king in Florida...

Town Car > Grand Marquis > Crown Vic

oh snap.

but after thinking about it, it really is about as true as it gets...

while I feel like Ford themselves has evolved into a much better car than they used to be (except for all the non RWD bs...) but Lincoln is just not keeping up. they are not even as nice as what Cadillac is putting out and not even in the same ball park as what Audi, BMW, and Lexus have been building lately.

Lincoln's current strategy is to compete with Buick. Yay, Buick. Of course, if Buick brings out their new Avista concept and they don't Reatta it, Lincoln will need to find a new company to compete against, like Kia.

Well,Lincolns must be holding up pretty well for everyone down here. Lot of Buicks and Beamers too. don-ohio :)^)

I couldn't believe how much better put together my 535 is compared to the LS (granted it's 6 years newer; though the LS only has 72K miles). After 67K+ miles the only rattle I have is the stupid passenger seat belt buckle bouncing off the "B" pillar when no one is in the passenger seat. Fortunately simply moving the buckle solves the problem. There is nary a squeak to be heard. This car is T-I-G-H-T tight!!

I live in Clearwater now in a very large condo complex. There is a 2006 LS the same color as mine on the other side of the property. There is a 2007 MKZ a few spots down. Then, I can walk around for 10 minutes and see 8 of the newer MKZs in the parking lots.

Glad to hear that,Robot! Foreign cars are taking over the nation.Yeah,Blah,Blah,Blah......I know some of the cars: the Hondas and other foreign cars are made in States, but the monies are going OUT to foreign nations. Plus I'll take a Ford or Mercury or EVEN a Buick over any of those pretenders. don-ohio :)^)

Yeah, they will drag me kickin and screamin to the lot to make me buy a FRONT WHEEL DRIVE car. I would rather go backwards in time to say a beautiful 63 Galaxy or 64 rather than buy a daily driver that's FWD.
I drove a Focus to work for a year or so and then found my great RWD Aerostar Van and gave the car to my son, after I did the timing belt for him at 130K. don-ohio :)^)

I used to think that. but after driving a Focus ST with its oddly brilliant slight amount of over steer, I've got no problem buying one just to put back and forth to work and keep the miles down on my main RWD hot rod.

Whatever floats yer boat,Loud. I just don't like em(FWDs) at all. don-ohio :)^)

while I dont prefer them by a long shot, they usually are easier/cheaper to build and there for cost less, for daily A to B transportation, its just not worth paying more just to throw miles and miles on, I would way rather save money from that and then be able to put that said money into a better machine that can be used for fun. I just dont see a lot of cheaper newer american RWD manual cars that get 30 mpg and are faster and handle better than the LS...

No front wheel drive car handles better than an LS,Loud......what are you smoking? LOL!Do you see front wheel drives trying to compete with the NASCAR boys? Nah! don-ohio :)^)

so sounds like you haven't ever driven one...

I guess that make it pretty clear that you have no ideal how well it handles, nor would you have a frame of reference to base how well the LS would stack up against it...

also for whats its worth, Honda put a FWD civic type R around the ring faster than a whole lot of really fast RWD cars that would drive circles around an LS (unless you think a LS can out handle a 02 Z06), so you might want to put your ignorance hat away for the time being...

On the race track, Mr. FWD Ignorant hat, you would lose in any class with SAME body design against rear wheel drive, same class, same quality build, WEIGHT to power ratio, etc. So WHO needs to put ignorance aside? The race track guys, state patrols and anyone that TRULY has to control a car under all high speed conditions will take the RWD,unless they want to end up decorating a ditch.LOL!
Finally........... Let's look at Ferrari,Porsche,Ford GT 40(500) and you go and get your best FWD and TRY to run against them in LeMans. You will lose BECAUSE you are front wheel drive. It won't even be close. don-ohio :)^)

again, a FWD civic did beat Porsche's, Ferrari's and the even the all mighty last ford GT they sent to Nürburgring* **

again, I never said that FWD was the best platform out there, merely that I wouldn't mind one to drive back and forth to work. didn't mean to offend you so easily

also, never did I say that a FWD ford focus would ever beat a mid engine hypercar that cost over $400,000... that would just be silly. and more importantly, it would be a pretty large major failure of a design team building a blank check race car if a regular old $24k car could even run along with it... but it is kinda funny to see your best defense of your super special LS getting ran away from by a focus is to bring up the worlds most expensive cars and how they can beat it...

so riddle me this, since you like Lemans so much... if RWD is the bestest and the fastest out there why are they not winning as the fastest car out there? maybe because there is something even faster out there... hybrid's

*I know Nürburgring is an awful big word for you around probably don"t understand it, see item two

Whoa! Did y'all go nuts today! Nothing wrong with putting the wear and tear on a POS FWD and saving your nice car for going out. That's what POS FWD is for.

Oh, and I don't care how fast a Civic is, I don't care if it goes 0-200MPH in 0.8 seconds, it's still a POS Civic.

It's a POS but it takes the cake and walks all over everything when it comes to track time?

I'll see your POS LS and raise you a 200MPH Civic

more like a 170-180 mph civic, while it is fairly quick and handles like its on rails, it doesn't quite have the HP to overcome the drag at 200 mph!!!

and for the price, I would way rather get the new RS and save a few bucks in my pocket that I would probably have to spend on tires from trying out drift mode to often!
