So....I bought a set of brand new halogen headlamps from eBay for a pretty good price. I got them today, and the front corner of the driver's side is broken... I assume it broke during shipping.

I was so excited to get them, and once I opened them up and saw the broken corner, my heart sank. :(

This is a shot in the dark, but does anyone happen to have a driver's side halogen housing sitting around?

Sorry that happened, but now I'm glad that you ended up with them instead of me...

I have one in good shape. 80.00 plus shipping

No offense, but I'm quite sure you don't know what I'm talking about. A few years ago, Ford came out with a halogen conversion for the Gen 2, 97-98 Mark VIII's, to replace the discontinued HID's. The conversion kit included all new housings, retrofitted to use halogen bulbs. However, if you do somehow happen to have what I'm talking about, I'd buy it for $80 in a heartbeat.

Sonny, I'll send you an email.

No offense taken and thanks for in the info. Do you happen to have a picture of them so i keep an eye out for them. I run across the 97-98 Mark VIII's from time to time.

there is no difference in the entire housing except for the back of the lowbeam bucket, instead of having a huge hole for the factory hid, it has a much smaller hole for a 9006 halogen bulb, a picture of the light would only show you that they look exactly the same in every way!

How much did u pay for the pair 98? Can't ebay or seller help. Was it insured?

Seller didn't get back to me right away....

Nope, he didn't insure it. I ALWAYS insure high-dollar shipments, if only just to cover my own ass.

Talked to him last night. He said he'd refund the purchase price if I return them, so I guess that's what I'll do...

Are you going to return both of them? What did you end up paying for the unbroken one? I may be interested in it as I have these ultra-rare lights on the 98.

There's a good chance I'll be returning this set that I bought. However, I found a driver's side housing by itself. If I can work out a good deal on that one, I might just keep this set.

Are you saying that you'd be willing to buy the broken one? It's not completely broken, just cracked, and it's not cracked into the actual housing part of the light, just that part where there's gray lines in the front corner. I almost thought about just painting that part black and covering it up...

i was going to buy the good one from you if you were sending it back. But if you can get a drivers side, you may yet be able to have a set. lol

You dont...u run the 9006 hids just like everyone else that converted without having to use adapter rings in crystal clear headlights...

I was lucky enough to find a set in a junkyard...couldn't believe how new they looked...never seen another set that clear except for michas halogen replacements when i bought a decent set of lights a week prior from him ...i just had to have them...then i saw the 2007 build date..and that explained everything :)

I'll be installing 9006's HID's from DDM Tuning into them....
