preffered w/ lowish miles and please tell the truth. Looking for cheapish but if you have a higher milage cheap i'll consider..

Must work perfect..Mine might have a bad diode from the searching i've done(also thanks nolimit) And only charges @13.8.
I start training tomaro for a new job and the last thing i want to happen is for my alt to die when i actually start working.
Hell if you wanna be nice charge me just shipping on an alt you want out of the garage or sumtin i'll take it.

if you have the newer style alternator, and since you have a gen 2, i expect you do, look for someone that can replace the diode plate. it is pretty cheap and not hard at all to do. i can do it myself with the proper tools.
cost me like $20.

I'll look into that..But i start training 2maro and then my job next week hopefully..The mark is my dd now so it cant have any down time. So its a diy job? How long would it take? Could i possibly pick up that pack at a local alt rebuilding place?

i don't suggest learning it on your daily driver. something done wrong and it all has to come apart again, with the possibility of irreversible damage. ie, new alternator.
with that said.
it can be a diy, but there is a bit of a learning curve getting the diode plate soldered back on.
took me 2 hours maybe? taking my time.
and yes, a local shop could have parts. there is a place around where i live run by a family friend that rebuilds starters and alternators.

i suggest taking to a small shop (not a chain) that deals with this type of stuff. i would expect someone to be able to rebuild it relatively quickly.

Dude, there is a place in Cary, IL that specializes in rebuilding alternators. But i forgot their name.

lol, well that doesn't do me any good.:).I'm pretty sure rebuilding it is out of the question as this is my dd..Thanks though.
